Frequently Asked Questions

What insurances do you accept?

We are currently in-network with: Aetna, Cigna, United Healthcare, Optum, Oscar and Anthem Blue Cross. We are not currently accepting Medicaid or Medicare insurance plans.

What if I don't have insurance or I'm out-of-network?

We accept self pay or private pay at $150 for an 15-20 minute follow up appointment and $250 for a 60-min new intake appointment. We can also provide you with an itemized bill (superbill) if you would like to seek reimbursement through your insurer independently.

What is a superbill?

A form completed by your mental health provider that allows patients to be reimbursed directly from their health insurance companies. A superbill is a document that all of the information necessary for an insurance company or other third party to make a decision on reimbursement for health expenses incurred by a client. It is not a receipt. It is not an invoice. It is not a claim. A superbill is similar to a claim that you'd send an insurance company.

Insurance and Billing process?

If you're in-network with us, you will receive an e-mail from Alma and/or Headway explaining your payment responsibility for the upcoming session. Transparency is really important to us, but we are currently unable to provide you an exact cost before your visit. Hence, you will receive a price range of what you can expect to pay. The rate is not what we bill nor reflects our contracted rate with your insurance plan. We use a 3rd party billing company to manage everything related to payments and insurance. By doing this, it allows us to accept certain insurance plans without all of the billing and admin work, so that we can focus our energy on our time together.
